Lady Lions middle and varsity volleyball doing well in early season

FCA vs SVHS
On Tuesday, August 27, Faith Christian Academy played Southwest Virginia Home School at FCA.
The middle school teamβs first game was a warm-up game, but in the second game they played very well as a team. The second game began with Ivie Saunders serving the first six points before losing the volley to the Lady Conquerors. The Lady Lions did not give up they volleyed on to win in their second game.
FCA ended the evening with a win in the third game as well over the MS Lady Conquerors. FCA continues to grow together as a team. Ivie Saunders led the middle school with her serves and movement on the court. Middle school scores FCA 13 to SWHS 25, FCA 25 to SWCA 18, and FCA 15 to SWCA 7.
Varsity had great potential and growth and will continue to work on areas of communication and skill to be a more effective team. Senior Maddie Lumpkin showed leadership on the court and led the Lady Lions with her serving. Varsity score was: FCA 15 to SWHS 25, FCA 13 to SWHS 25 and FCA 5 to SWHS 25.
Faith Christian Academy vs West Christian Academy
On Thursday, August 29, the Lady Lions traveled to West Christian Academy. Middle School Lady Lions played excellent! They came together as a team and worked on getting the ball back across the net. In the first game FCA came up just shy of the win. In the second game the Lions lead all the way to victory. The third game was won by FCA also. Ivie Saunders served all 15 points with 6 aces. Ivie Saunders led the middle school with her serves and movement all over the court. Ivie Saunders had seven aces for the night, six aces were in one game. Middle school score: FCA 23 to WCA 25, FCA 25 to WCA 18 and FCA 15 to WCA 0.
Varsity Lady Lions continue to grow in each practice and game. The third game they came together and worked well as a team. Kinley Keesee helped the Lady Lions with her serves against the Lady Bulldogs in the third game. Maddi Lumpkins and Reese Ayers with five attacks each and one kill each. Varsity scores were: FCA 6 to WCA 25, FCA 7 to WCA 25 and FCA 15 to WCA 25.
Faith Christian Academy will host Cornerstone Christian on September 5. Middle School at 4:30 p.m. followed by Varsity at 5:30 p.m.
